The Brother's Beginning

Brothers Stephen and H. Joel Boyd come from a long family line of builders and developers beginning before 1900 in Ireland, and continuing into the 1920's developing hotels and residences in Manitoba, Canada. Their parents settled in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, during the late 1940's. Steve and Joel, being the two youngest of eight children, began working and learning side by side with family members very early on, as well as working in the Milwaukee carpenters and painters unions together.

Steve and Joel formally partnered in 1988, and shortly after created Windridge Homes, now based in Sheboygan, WI. They have built many homes over the last 18 years since their business partnership formally began. With all of their experiences gained through the last 25 years and with the knowledge they have acquired through continued education in their respective fields, it has always been of the utmost importance to them to correctly understand the construction and development process from start to completion. Although Steve and Joel no longer work on the construction job sites, they have entrusted the day-to-day jobsite supervision to the same people that worked side by side with them for over a dozen years. As Steve and Joel now expand their horizons into future developments in Wisconsin and throughout the United States, they still set aside time to observe even the smallest of projects on a regular basis.

Starting from their humble beginnings to building private residences valued up to $3 Million, they are now developing new communities into the $10’s of millions locally. Steve and Joel are proud of their journey to date, and plan to continue for many years to come as their children learn and grow into the business to carry on the family heritage into the future.

Steve and Joel possess a passion for life, as well as an exceptional vision to create cohesive designs and conservancy communities in Wisconsin, Florida and Arizona. They have gained national recognition for the Ultimate Entertaining Home constructed in 2004 in Kohler, WI. Based on their reputation as builders, their attention to detail, and their professionalism, they were exclusively selected and invited by the Kohler Company and Food and Wine Magazine, to build the Ultimate Entertaining Home, which they did in record time.
